Forza Horizon 6 Nears 5 Million Sales in a Week

Forza Horizon 6 is nearing an estimated 5 million copies sold in its first week, according to a new report from Alinea Analytics.

The latest open-world racing game from Playground Games launched earlier this week. Players who bought the Premium Edition received access at the end of last week.

The report estimates that Forza Horizon 6 has generated about $325 million in gross revenue during its first week on sale.

Steam Leads Sales

Forza Horizon 6 launched on Xbox Game Pass for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, but the game still sold millions of copies across platforms.

According to Alinea Analytics, Steam accounted for an estimated 2.8 million copies sold. Xbox sales accounted for 42% of total sales, with an estimated 2.1 million copies sold.

The report also estimates that more than 3 million additional players tried the game through Game Pass Ultimate.

Game Pass Boosts Player Count

The sales report follows Playground Games’ own announcement that Forza Horizon 6 had reached more than 6 million players overall. That figure includes players across Xbox, Steam, and Game Pass.

The strong launch shows that the game has attracted both direct buyers and subscription players, despite being available on Game Pass from day one.

Strong Reviews Support Momentum

Forza Horizon 6 has also received strong reviews from critics. The game currently holds a Metacritic score of 91, following the critical success of Forza Horizon 5.

Wccftech’s Chris Wray gave the game full marks in his review. He called the Japan setting the best map in the series and described the game as a polished result of Playground Games’ experience with previous Forza Horizon titles.

Big Win for Playground Games

Forza Horizon 6 is now shaping up as another major success for Xbox and Playground Games. The series has long been one of Xbox’s strongest first-party franchises, and the latest entry appears to have continued that momentum.

Playground Games is also working on Fable, which the studio recently reconfirmed is still planned for release in 2026.
